——Visit Jiaojiang (Haimen) Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall

Before the 2016 winter solstice, I came to Jiaojiang, Taizhou on a business trip. Haimen Port here is one of the important ports in Zhejiang Province. The river is wide, the channel is straight, and the anchorage is sufficient. Forefront.

I have been to Jiaojiang many times, but I haven't sketched it yet. Although both the coast and the pier can be painted, I want to paint the Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall this time. During my lunch break, I went to the southwestern foothills of Dongshan Mountain in Laohaimen, wandered around a piece of low and old houses, and found Jiguang Road. I saw the Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall not long ago. The first thing I saw was the inscribed "Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall" inscribed by Sha Menghai on the wall in gold with the incense burning platform in the middle. The wall has been blackened by the incense. You can imagine the heroes of four or five hundred years ago in the minds of Taizhou people. Lofty status. Behind the wall is an arch bridge, and a pool of shallow water under the bridge is covered with duckweeds, which complements the vast shade of the trees above. The two ancient cannons under Qi Jiguang Temple stood upright and solemnly.

Jiaojiang (Haimen) Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall Sketch

The Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall was originally the Haimen Guardian City God Temple and Qi Gong's Ancestral Hall, and it was also the place where the Qi family army gathered troops. It was built in the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the late Qing Dynasty as the architectural format of "three entrances and two courtyards". The front hall is on the top of the mountain with double eaves. In the center of the main hall is a seated statue of Qi Jiguang. There are two showrooms in the side halls on both sides. The showrooms are a combination of documents, cultural relics, charts, photos, models, etc., showing the historical relics of Qi Jiguang against the Japanese. .

During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Japanese pirates aggressively invaded our southeast coast. The national hero Qi Jiguang was appointed as a general of Taijin Yan in 1559 (Jiajing 38 years), and stationed as a guard at Haimen. After General Qi arrived at Haimen, he recruited 3,000 miners from Yiwu, trained the Qi’s army to adapt to combat operations in the southern paddy field area, and established a navy division equipped with large and small ships. The training ground was outside the east gate, here. It is one of the garrisons. General Qi spent four years in Haimen and moved to various places in Taizhou. He experienced great victories in Taozhu, Haimen, Xinhe, Baishuiyang and Changsha, and captured countless Japanese pirates. From then on, the Japanese pirates did not dare to offend us on the coast of Taizhou again. In 1562, Qi Jiguang aided Fujian, and the next year he aided Fujian again, until the Japanese pirates on Nan'ao Island in Guangdong were suppressed, and he won the final victory in the struggle against the Japanese. In order to commemorate Qi Jiguang's anti-Japanese feats, the people of Haimen established Qi Gong Temple at the Garrison of the Chenghuang Temple, where incense will be kept forever. In 1984, the state allocated funds for the construction of the Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall and opened up a display of historical relics of Qi Jiguang's anti-Japanese war. It opened in January 1987. Qi Jiguang Temple is a key cultural relic protection unit in Zhejiang Province.

Riding the rain just after but the weather is not cold, I quickly chose a perspective from the memorial hall on the west side of the gate and quickly painted it. An hour later, I finished this sketch of the scene in A4 size, and happily stepped out of Jiguang Road.

Walking along the streets of Jiaojiang (Haimen), I thought: As the administrative center of Taizhou, a rapidly developing port city, the old city is submerged in the process of urbanization. However, many cultural and historical relics are well preserved, such as "Haimen Old Street", "Yinshan Academy", "Dongshan Academy" and other scenic spots, which constitute the humanistic landscape of Haimen Guard City. Being able to visit and sketch in such a well-preserved Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall (Qi Gong's Temple) has made me very satisfied.

Lenovo Linshanwei from Yuyao, three years before General Qi came to Haimenwei (Jiajing 35 years), he served as Ning Shaotai general, stationed in Linshanwei and Guanhaiwei, and was also another master of Qi Jiguang's fight against Japanese pirates. battlefield. Linshanweicheng has a vast jurisdiction. According to the "Linshan Weizhi", "It is sixty miles from Sanshansuo in the east, sixty miles from Lihaisuo in the west, five miles from Yuzhihu in the south, and five miles to the sea in the north." The Qi Jiguang Anti-Japanese Historical Relics Exhibition in the Qi Jiguang Memorial Hall in Haimen also shows the deeds of Qi's army fighting against Japanese pirates in Linshanwei. Linshan Town still has Qi Shaobao Temple to commemorate General Qi, but it is not as good as Haimen in terms of the scale of propaganda and the protection of the site. Now we promote Qi Jiguang's spirit of resisting foreign aggression and strengthen national defense knowledge education, which is to propagate patriotism.

Yes, fighting against Japanese pirates is necessary to safeguard the dignity of the country. Qi Jiguang's fight against Japanese pirates in Shandong, Zhejiang and Fujian, achieved a successful example of fighting against Japanese pirates from invincible to victorious. He also turned from a local general to a front general in the battle and became a national hero.

"It’s not my intention to be appointed, I hope the sea will be peaceful." This is a famous line from the hero Qi Jiguang’s poem "The Depths of the Bell", which embodies the great personality and personality of a "Heng Ge Ma Ma" general in resisting foreign insults. The lofty realm is an ardent call for peace for all mankind.
